Title: User Experience Design

Abstract:
User Experience Design (also know as UX Design or User Interface Design or HumanComputer Interaction Design) is a process of creating computationally enabled experiences.
In this talk we overview the methods and tools typically used in developing successful User Experiences. Many companies today succeed or fail based on the User Experience provided to the customers for their products or services. Apple, for example, has a tradition of providing a positive UX. Some companies introduce software or hardware devices that fail because of a bad UX.
The computer-oriented domains in which UX matters are broad and varied, and include Traditional desk-top GUIs and applications; Mobile devices tablets, smart phonesboth hardware and overall user interaction methods as well as specific applications; Wearable devices watches, activity monitors, glasses,  VR and AR headgear;  Home applications – security, automation, energy usage monitoring,  entertainment;  Automotive applications – entertainment, directions, partial automation & safety; Toys smart dolls, speak and spell, smart phone or table controlled vehicles. Topics overviewed during this two-hour session are: Overall UX design process, and why it matters;Breadth of UX design considerations; Understanding users and their needs/desires; Ideation; Prototyping; User testing.
