Research Goal

  • Our goal is to achieve the intelligent Augmented Reality (AR) technology in dynamic environment.  Dynamic targets are intelligently perceived with the computer vision technology, then the virtual objects are planned to respond the scene changes, and generates realistic fusion effects for AR. The intelligence topics under study include: object detection and recognition, 3D template tracking, object tracking, action recognition, illumination estimation, behavior planning, etc. The topics for integration of AR include:  calibration, inpainting, and super resolution of depth map, bilayer segmentation, and scene rendering of images, etc.  The ongoing research work employ new theories such as sparse representation and deep learning, as well as traditional methods such as feature extraction and tracking. Our research is based on computer vision, machine learning, pattern recognition, image analysis and processing, computer graphics, and analysis and understanding of images and depth maps.

  • Augmented reality technology is ushering in a new era! We sincerely hope that ambitious students will join us and carry out high-level research.
